About Me
I stumbled into a Baptiste Power yoga class with my sister in 2008. It was hot, hard, & expensive. I wouldn’t have kept showing up, except it was the one place in my life where I heard words of encouragement. I moved from the Washington, D.C. suburbs to Philadelphia, PA in January of 2014 & continued taking classes at a Baptiste Power yoga studio, as that is all I knew.
I eventually went to a Vinyasa studio that changed my life - because of the people I met & the experiences I had. I worked the front desk, I practiced daily, & the studio became my home. I took Yoga Teacher training in February 2016 to deepen my understanding of yoga & to overcome my fear of public speaking. Upon graduation that June, I taught a weekly class & really liked holding space for folks to explore their bodies through movement & breathwork.
I taught everywhere & anywhere for anyone who would let me. I connected to two local organizations that were bringing yoga where it hasn’t been offered before & I fell madly in love with their approach. Since then, I have been teaching yoga mostly outside of yoga studios all over Philadelphia county. My goal has always been to make yoga available & accessible to anyone who is interested. Additionally, I share these practices to encourage others to show up as their best self for themself & for their community.
My personal practice has evolved over the years to be less of a workout & more of a compliment to my running & lifestyle. I have a daily yoga & meditation practice that grounds me amongst the constant chaos that is the world we live in today & to keep me healthy for my work in public health.
More about me: I have a background in Criminal Justice and Criminal Defense and currently work in Public Health. I am also an endurance athlete and community builder. In my free time, I use my skills to fundraise for local, national, and international nonprofits.
look forward to connecting!
Thank you to my yoga mentors who taught me formally & informally over the years. I would not be the teacher I am today without you.
